Team Arrives in Uganda

May 30, 2009 | Filed under: Uganda by Christen

Hey everyone,

After two and a half days of traveling, we finally made it to Uganda!

Our flight left from JFK on Tuesday night and arrived in Dubai, UAE about 12 hours later. We stayed in Dubai for about 12 hours, during which we had dinner, enjoyed a night bus tour, had light refreshments, watched Emirati music videos, and grabbed breakfast. During the night tour, we saw the Burj al Arab (the world’s only 7-star hotel), Atlantis (the world’s largest hotel), the Arabian Sea (which we waded in), Palm Jumeirah (man-made islands shaped like a palm frond), Souk Madeirat Jumeirah (a market), and Burj Dubai (the tallest tower in the world). We left Dubai in the morning, stopped in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia without deboarding, and landed in Entebbe in the afternoon. During the flight, an epic battle was waged between Dom (Lacey) and Ford (Alison) in Battleship. When the smoke cleared, Alison emerged victorious.

After arriving in Entebbe, we drove down to Kampala, where our Ugandan adventure began!
