- Old E-board became disconnected w/their program -> should focus on retaining connection w/programs

- Columbia ties -> there’s a lot of resources here!
- Instead of only 1 faculty member, have a group that we can consult with
- Each program has important resources that not all programs might know about
- Make equipment list and share equipment/resources btwn programs
- Allison (Events Chair)
- Photo competitions from EWB-USA!

- Improve connection w/student council
- Start the program meetings earlier in the year + make new members feel welcome

- Plan workshops every month
Winter Break Update for India Team
- India team officially closed over winter break
- Looking at working in Morocco
- Approached by a Peace Corp member working there
- Goal: submit at end of month
- Application complete but looking for technical mentors
EWB-NY General Body Meeting – Reaching Out to Middle/High Schools
- Kristina: Can go into school to show kids cool projects such as making bridges out of toothpicks
Public Speaking Workshop – Contact w/Bethany
- Bethany knows Communications Professor from New Jersey
- Specialty: interpersonal stuff (ex. friendship) -> like team building
- Can do intercultural and also public speaking/presentation
- Useful for giving presentations
- Can only come on Fri/Sat
- 3 diff sessions in a day w/reception and break btwn each section
- Might be better to limit to 2 workshops since 3 might be too much
- Intercultural speaking might be cool
- Separate session for travel team?
- Date: 2/5 or 2/19 at 11, 12:30, 2
- Saturday might be better
- In one of the Mudd rooms – Mudd 833 or maybe Hamilton?
- Start at 1pm so we don’t need to feed ppl lunch -> end at 4?
- Goal: encourage everyone to show up!!!

- Good idea to film everything we do! For PR and website

Fundraising via Mel’s
- ~$1000 profit from Campo event last year
- Christine: will look into Mel’s + ask about carding policy
- Might be more strict on carding

Flyers
- Have to be careful about what we put on flyers
- Benny (Webmaster) will be in charge of making flyers
Northeast Conference
- Kevin emailed Rosemary
- Application will come out at the end of this month
Email Policy

EWB-USA Membership Policy Change
- Instead of sending in form, now have website where members can sign up
Columbia ADI – Contact w/Christine
- DevFest: getting a bunch of developers within Columbia community and professionals and a bunch of clubs
- Each club has opportunity to present
- ADI suggested that we do a brainstorming session where we present our projects and developers that come in can help us
- 1/29: PitchFest where clubs can bring in their ideas and developers can help them
- Starts 1/29 and runs until 2/6
- Holding events weekday nights
- How should we present? Which day?
- Talk about our projects and mention where we have roadblocks
- Can use as opportunity to get new members!
- Thursday/Friday night?
- Sit down w/ADI and discuss
International Conference
- Weekend after Spring Break (Fri-Sun)
- Early bird special before Valentine’s Day
- Can apply to Dean’s Fund/ABC Appeal to fund traveling
- Get all interested people to tell us within the next 2 weeks
- Money:
- Travel costs: ~$450
- Roughly: ~$525 for travel and hotel bill
- Costs – not early bird special:
- Registration: $235
- Hotel: $25 for each night (3 nights)
Application Review Committee
- First step: send out blurbs to all professors each program listed
Website
- PL’s talk to Benny to figure out how to appropriately update website
Sponsors
- Update sponsor’s list on website
- Do we currently have any sponsors?
- Claudia knows group in Washington that sponsors international groups
- Group is faith-based
- Only Uganda’s NGO is faith-based
- EWB is located in USA so we might not be eligible
- Diff “rewards” for diff lvls of sponsorship
- Ex. if donate enough $$, can have them on t-shirts
- Establish a standard for sponsorship
- Kristina will come up with standard by next meeting
Fill Out 512 Forms
- General overview of program
- Can help w/sponsorship
- Can see current 512’s if we log into EWB site
Survey
- Bethany wants to ask if there are any events the members want
- What kind of changes would you like to see?
- What kinds of events?
- Put together questions for survey to send out to EWB members
Webinar Movie Night
- Way of encouraging people to watch webinars!
- Webinars are on EWB-USA website
- Get a room w/a projector
CPR Workshop
- Should set it up soon
- Took a month to set up last year
- Need funds -> need to pay the ppl
- Can do this through Red Cross and American Heart Association instead of CAVA
- More legit and more professional
- Can invite ppl from other chapters and Columbia community
- Advertise through GlobeMed, Global Brigades, Rotaract, AMSA, Charles Drew, etc
- Want a Lerner room – Party Space, C555
