A Great Start to the Holidays – spread the word to your friends, family, enemies, etc

Help out EWB-USA CU this holiday season and make a lasting difference – Contribute to the EWB-USA 2011 Giving Campaign!

Until January 15, 2012 EWB-USA will set out to raise $500,000 in donations. To help us reach our campaign goal of $500,000, CH2M HILL, AECOM, CDM and the EWB-USA Board of Directors have provided $100,000 in matching funds. This holiday season, your donation will have twice the impact! Every dollar donated will be matched, with 50% of the match going to the chapter and 50% going to EWB-USA. The chapter with the most total donations (not including matching funds) and the chapter with the most donors will also receive an additional $5,000.

Successful NERW 2011

The Columbia University Student Chapter of EWB-USA had the honor of hosting the 2011 Northeast Regional Workshop this past November. The dual purpose of the annual Workshop is to train EWB-USA members in the Northeast Region so we are able to help other more efficiently and to allow members to network, brainstorm, and offer feedback about each others’ projects. Over 350 participants joined us for the weekend along with over 40 speakers who offered their experience and insight on topics ranging from their personal international development trips to surveying techniques. The professional exhibition showcased our generous sponsors and reputable nonprofit organizations. The keynote speakers were Cathy Leslie (Executive Director of EWB-USA), Peter Waugh (Project Manager at EWB-USA), Cindy Gallop (Founder of IfWeRanTheWorld and TED Speaker), and Professor Joseph Stiglitz (Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in Economics). EWB fever was definitely in the air throughout the entire Workshop as attendees acquired new resources and knowledge to better their project designs, in-country trip planning, cultural communications, and international development work.
