Environmental Protection Agency
P3 stands for People, Prosperity and the Planet. Through this EPA program, college students can benefit people, promote prosperity and protect the planet by designing solutions that move us towards a sustainable future. The P3 Award competition is a two-phase team contest. For the first phase, interdisciplinary student teams compete for $15,000 grants. Recipients use the money to research and develop their design projects during the academic year. Given to the best student designs, this is an award and opportunity for grant funding up to $90,000 to further the project design, implement it in the field, and move it to the marketplace.
Pearl ($5,000 – $9,999)
Environmental Resources Management Foundation
The ERM Foundation supports environmental projects around the world through the provision of small grants and/or practical support. We are particularly interested in projects which offer additional social benefits to local communities. Grants are distributed by the Foundation in North America on an annual basis.
Boeing is the world’s leading aerospace company and the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined. Additionally, Boeing designs and manufactures rotorcraft, electronic and defense systems, missiles, satellites, launch vehicles and advanced information and communication systems. As a major service provider to NASA, Boeing operates the Space Shuttle and International Space Station. The company also provides numerous military and commercial airline support services. Boeing supports our projects by generous donations through EWB-USA grants.
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE)
AIChE is the world’s leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with over 40,000 members from over 90 countries. AIChE has the breadth of resources and expertise you need whether you are in core process industries or emerging areas, such as nanobiotechnology. AIChE supports our projects by generous donations through EWB-USA grants.
Platinum ($1,000 – $4,999)
The Millennium Campus Network is an organization of university student groups committed to supporting the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to eradicate extreme poverty. The MCN brings together student organizations at leading universities to make the anti-poverty movement – in the spirit of the MDGs – a fully cross-disciplinary, collaborative and integrated effort.
Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global leaders to devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Since 2005, CGI Annual Meetings have brought together nearly 150 current and former heads of state, 18 Nobel Prize laureates, hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations, major philanthropists, directors of the most effective nongovernmental organizations, and prominent members of the media. These CGI members have made nearly 2,000 commitments, which have already improved the lives of 300 million people in more than 180 countries. When fully funded and implemented, these commitments will be valued in excess of $63 billion.
Columbia Engineering Alumni Association
The Columbia Engineering Alumni Association (CEAA) is an independent corporation founded in 1882 to foster and deepen the bonds of fellowship between the alumni, faculty and students of the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science. The Association currently has more than 17,000 members around the world. CEAA awards scholarships, provides mentoring and professional guidance to undergraduates, promotes excellence in teaching and sponsors a wide range of social and professional events throughout the year.
